about
Maia returns this year with a slew of songs ready for consumption. Her second single, To See You Through, is on the darker and more subtle side of her previous track The Other Side Of This, yet a kind of dream-like quality remains present, weaving through concepts of being a woman and feeling too much in a relationship and in life. We also get a full band experience here, a heavy contrast to her previously acoustic-driven, jangly lullaby.
“The song was written and recorded in 2017 with an album that never made it to the light of day. This song managed to shoot through last year and struck a chord with me again, and I made the decision to include it on this record. I’ve learnt a lot about myself since writing it, and I’m at a place where I mostly embrace my feelings, emotions and intensity, which is what this song is essentially about.”
The track was recorded at Defwolf studios in Redfern 2017, engineered and mixed by Ryan K Brennan (Julia Jacklin, Phantastic Ferniture, Kind Gizzard, Darby) and mastered by Adam Dempsey (Angie McMachon, Courtney Barnett, Didirri)
